The players that qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup are capable of performing on the international scene, according to Jordan Ayew, who has voiced great faith in the current Ghana national football team group.
Ghana will play in Group L with the national football teams of England, Panama, and Croatia in the competition, which will be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
In an exclusive interview with Adom Sports, Ayew commended the qualifying campaign players’ performances and said that their efforts were crucial in guaranteeing Ghana’s spot in the competition.
The Black Stars captain claims that the team played incredibly well during the qualifications, ending with five victories and a draw in their final six games. He thinks the present team has what it takes to compete successfully at the World Cup without the need for major acquisitions based on those performances.
Ayew said,
He also emphasized the team’s increasing cohesion, pointing out that even though they don’t spend much time together during training camps, the players still get closer and have a better understanding of one another on the field.
“We haven’t had much time to train together, but the unity is getting better and everything is improving,” he added.
Ayew added that it might not be essential to make significant changes to the team at this time. He did concede, though, that the technical team is ultimately in charge of player selection.
He explained,
The forward for Leicester City emphasized that any player who eventually gains a spot on the club needs to be prepared to put forth their best effort and produce when called upon.
He stated,
Whoever is added must be ready to give their all and put on a show.
Ghana will begin their World Cup campaign with a match against the Panama national football team in Toronto before facing the England national football team and the Croatia national football team in the remaining group fixtures.
With momentum from the qualification campaign and growing team chemistry, Ayew remains optimistic that the Black Stars can rise to the occasion and make Ghana proud on football’s biggest stage.
