Ghana midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyereh linked with VfL Osnabruck move

Date:

Ghana midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyereh is reportedly close to joining German second-tier side VfL Osnabruck as he looks to revive his career after a lengthy injury layoff.According to Sky Sports, the 30-year-old attacking midfielder is on the verge of completing a move to Osnabruck, with the transfer expected to be finalised at the beginning of next week.Kyereh would join the club as a free agent after leaving Bundesliga side SC Freiburg, where his contract expired on 30 June 2026.The proposed move marks a significant step in Kyerehs attempt to return to regular competitive football after suffering a serious cruciate ligament injury in February 2023.The Ghana international spent more than three years on the sidelines following the setback and was unable to feature in an official match until making his return in April 2026.His long absence disrupted the progress of a player who had previously established himself as one of Ghanas promising attacking talents in European football.A major factor behind Osnabrucks pursuit of Kyereh is his relationship with head coach Timo Schultz. The pair previously worked together at FC St. Pauli, where Kyereh enjoyed the most successful period of his career and developed into one of the standout attacking players in Germanys second division. The familiar environment at Osnabruck is viewed as an ideal opportunity for the Ghanaian to regain confidence and rediscover his best form.
