
The leadership of the National Sports Authority (NSA) has visited the Black Maidens’ camp to rally support for Ghana’s U-17 women’s national team ahead of Saturday’s decisive FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Senegal.NSA Board Chairman Dr Fred Awaah and Director General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah paid the visit on Wednesday at the Accra Sports Stadium, where the team was engaged in a friendly warm-up match as part of preparations for the return leg.Addressing the players, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah congratulated the Black Maidens on their efforts throughout the qualifying campaign and urged them to finish the job against Senegal.He assured the team of the NSA’s full support as they seek to secure a place at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.Speaking on behalf of Board Chairman Dr Fred Awaah, Ampofo Ankrah also revealed that the chairman has promised a special reward should the team qualify for the global tournament.The visit forms part of the NSA leadership’s ongoing tour of national sports associations and federations aimed at motivating Ghana’s national teams ahead of major international competitions.The Black Maidens will host Senegal at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, July 11, with kick-off scheduled for 15:30 GMT.The tie remains evenly balanced after the two sides played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Dakar, leaving the winner of Saturday’s encounter to secure qualification for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
