Young Lions FC have been crowned champions of the 2025/26 Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA) Colts Championship after finishing top of the standings with seven points.The Sagnarigu-based side emerged as regional champions ahead of Pong Tamale Gbewaa FC, Kumbungu City Babies and Tamale Vision Babies following an impressive campaign. Their consistent performances throughout the competition earned them the championship trophy, gold medals and a cash prize.Pong Tamale Gbewaa FC finished second after a spirited campaign, while Kumbungu City Babies secured third place. Tamale Vision Babies completed the standings after displaying encouraging performances during the tournament.Individual honours also went to standout performers. Young Lions midfielder Abdallah Jafar was named the tournament’s Best Player, while teammate Emmanuel Kobby shared the Top Scorer award with Issahaku Umar of Kumbungu City Babies. Iddrisu Halifa of Kumbungu City Babies was recognised as the Best Goalkeeper for his outstanding displays.The championship once again highlighted the growing standard of juvenile football in the Northern Region and provided young players with an important platform to showcase their talent.
