Tension at Gbese Court as “Abu Trica” Extradition Case Is Adjourned Again To March 25

Date:

On March 18, 2026, Agona Swedru-based alleged business mogul, Fredrick Kumi, widely known as “Abu Trica,” appeared before the Gbese Circuit Court for what was expected to be the final hearing of his extradition and bail application case.

Many observers anticipated a decisive ruling that would either see him extradited to the United States or regain his freedom. However, proceedings took an unexpected turn as the court adjourned the case to March 25, 2026, postponing the much-anticipated final decision.

The adjournment sparked intense reactions outside the court premises, as a large crowd made up of supporters, family members, and followers gathered, demanding his immediate release. The atmosphere was charged, reflecting the high public interest and emotions surrounding the case.

Speaking to the public, a man identified as Abu Trica’s brother strongly defended him, insisting that Fredrick Kumi is not a criminal but a legitimate car dealer and businessman. He further appealed to authorities not to extradite his brother to the United States, where he is reportedly facing a potential 20-year prison sentence over allegations linked to a romance scam involving an elderly American victim and an estimated $8 million.
