Championship side Swansea City have reached an agreement with Belgian club Zulte Waregem for the signing of Ghanaian forward Joseph Opoku.
The Welsh club fought off strong competition from fellow Championship side Hull City, Italian outfit Genoa, Turkish giants Trabzonspor, Russian club Krasnodar and Spanish side Real Sociedad to secure the highly-rated attacker.
The 20-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with Zulte Waregem, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists in 33 appearances to establish himself as one of the club’s standout performers.
Opoku’s rapid rise has also been recognised at international level. He made his senior Black Stars debut earlier this year and was included in Ghana’s preliminary squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He was also a member of Ghana’s squad for the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
Swansea’s move underlines the growing reputation of the young forward, who is regarded as one of Ghana’s brightest attacking prospects.
Once the remaining formalities are completed, Opoku will begin a new chapter in England with Swansea City, where he will be hoping to continue his impressive development in the Championship.
