Former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah believes Pep Guardiola will be deeply affected by the financial scandal surrounding Manchester City.Appiah, who played alongside Guardiola at Italian club Brescia during the 2002/03 season, said the former Manchester City manager is the type of person who wants to resolve problems immediately.City were found guilty of serious breaches of Premier League financial rules following a lengthy investigation, although the club has denied wrongdoing and appealed the verdict.Speaking to SunSport, Appiah said Guardiolas personality means he will be taking the situation seriously.I think people underestimate how intense Pep is, Appiah said.Hes somebody who, when there is an issue, wants to solve the issue there and then. He doesnt like living with a bad feeling. So I know all these things that are happening around Man City, the moment he walks out of the door, I know hes feeling it. Its not going to be easy for him.Appiah added that Guardiolas passion for the game means the allegations and questions surrounding Citys success will concern him.Given how I know him from our time together, he will be moving mountains trying to get to the bottom of these issues once and for all, he said.Guardiola spent a decade at Manchester City, winning six Premier League titles and guiding the club to its first Champions League trophy as part of the historic Treble in 2023.There has been no suggestion that Guardiola was personally involved in the alleged financial wrongdoing. Manchester City have formally appealed the commissions verdict.
