Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has revealed his intention to enter politics and contest for the parliamentary seat in the Ablekuma South Constituency during the 2028 general elections.
Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM, the award-winning musician disclosed that he is considering running as an independent candidate rather than representing any political party.
According to him, if he decides to represent the people of Ablekuma South in Parliament of Ghana, he would prefer to do so without the ticket of any political party.
The dancehall icon explained that his vision is to contribute to the development of the country, stating that Ghana has the potential to be developed to the level of cities such as Dubai.
He further noted that he has a strong connection with the Ablekuma South Constituency, revealing that he once voted there and feels ready to represent the people if given the opportunity.
Shatta Wale’s comments have already sparked conversations online, with many Ghanaians reacting to the possibility of the musician entering active politics ahead of the 2028 elections.
