Ghana sweep Togo aside to qualify for 2026 CAVB Women’s Championship

Ghana’s women’s volleyball team secured qualification for the 2026 CAVB Africa Women’s Nations Championship after defeating Togo 3-0 in dominant fashion in the final qualifying match.

The Black Queens produced an impressive display to sweep aside their West African rivals in straight sets, winning 25-18, 25-13 and 25-9 to book their place at the continental championship in Kenya.

After taking a competitive opening set, Ghana raised the intensity in the second, controlling proceedings with strong attacking play and disciplined defending to claim a comfortable 25-13 victory. The hosts maintained their momentum in the third set, overwhelming Togo 25-9 to complete the convincing win.

The result capped an outstanding performance from the Black Queens, who showed consistency and composure throughout the qualifier to secure their ticket to the 2026 championship.

The victory sparked celebrations among the players, coaches and the entire Team Ghana delegation as the nation looks ahead to competing against Africa’s top volleyball nations in Kenya next year.
