Ghana international goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi has completed a move to South African Premier Soccer League side Stellenbosch FC on a long-term contract.The 25-year-old goalkeeper joins the Maroons after leaving Hearts of Oak, strengthening the clubs options between the posts ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.Agbasi was part of Ghanas squad setup at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, serving as a travelling reserve during the Black Stars campaign.He now begins a new chapter in South Africa, where he will compete for the starting goalkeeping position alongside experienced shot-stoppers Sage Stephens and Nathan Garrow.Speaking after completing the move, Agbasi expressed his excitement about joining Stellenbosch and settling into his new surroundings.I feel very excited to be part of Stellenbosch FC, Agbasi said. Football has always given me a place to call home, and I feel like I am at home. Everyone has welcomed me and I feel good to be here.The Ghanaian goalkeeper has also set his sights on helping Stellenbosch return to the upper reaches of the South African top flight.Im hoping to help the team get back to the top four in the league, and from there compete for the league and in the CAF Confederation Cup or Champions League in the coming seasons, he added.Agbasi will wear the No. 16 shirt at Stellenbosch and could make his competitive debut when the club faces Kaizer Chiefs on October 17, 2026.His move to South Africa provides the former Hearts goalkeeper with an opportunity to establish himself at club level while continuing to push for a regular role with the Black Stars.Agbasi was crucial for Dreams FC in their run to the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals.
