Ghana goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi has been recognised as the most effective shot-stopper at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The St. Gallen goalkeeper finished the competition with a goals prevented statistic of 2.35, a measurement that highlights the number of goals a goalkeeper prevented based on the quality of chances faced compared with the goals actually conceded.
He also finished as the Black Stars’ highest-rated player among those who played at least 100 minutes, recording an average rating of 7.21.
The 29-year-old featured for only 135 minutes after starting Ghana’s opening group-stage match before an injury forced him out during the team’s second game.
The goalkeeper’s form represented one of the few major positives from Ghana’s World Cup journey.
The Black Stars reached the Round of 32 before their campaign ended with a narrow defeat against Colombia.
