Ghana’s Black Satellites have been drawn in a difficult Group B alongside Nigeria, Togo and Burkina Faso for the WAFU B U-20 Championship.The draw for the regional tournament, which serves as the qualifying competition for the 2027 CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, was held on Wednesday at the headquarters of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B in Abidjan, Cte d’Ivoire.The draw sets up another chapter in the long-standing rivalry between Ghana and Nigeria, with both sides expected to battle for one of the qualification places for the continental tournament.The Black Satellites will also have to overcome Togo and Burkina Faso as they seek qualification for the 2027 CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be hosted by Ghana.Group A consists of hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Benin and Niger, with the three nations also competing for a place at the continental championship.The WAFU B U-20 Championship will bring together the seven member associations of WAFU Zone B, providing a platform for some of West Africa’s brightest young talents while serving as the pathway to the 2027 CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
